Recently, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 56 of 2023, officially deciding to establish 7 industry standardization technical committees including the exhibition industry industry standardization technical committee and 1 industry standardization working group. The implementation of the first Exhibition Industry Standardization Technical Committee will further promote the construction of the exhibition industry standardization system and enhance the standardization development of the exhibition industry.

The first Exhibition Industry Industry Standardization Technical Committee, numbered SW/TC3, is mainly responsible for the standardization work of the exhibition industry. The secretariat is assumed by the China Exhibition Economic Research Association, and the Service Trade and Commercial Services Department of the Ministry of Commerce is responsible for business guidance. The Standardization Committee consists of 27 members, who come from scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, industry associations, testing institutions, enterprises and institutions, etc., forming a standardization research team that is familiar with the industry and understands standards. Qu Weixi, deputy director of the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce and president of the China Convention and Exhibition Economic Research Association, serves as the chairman of SW/TC3, and Jiang Huai, vice president and secretary-general of the China Convention and Exhibition Economic Research Association, serves as the secretary-general of SW/TC3. Among them, Huang Biao, president of Lingtong Exhibition Systems Co., Ltd., was officially elected as a member of the Exhibition Industry Standardization Technical Committee of the Ministry of Commerce.
